Document Neighbourhood Priorities 201819
We are currently halfway through the Neighbourhood Area meetings to update on developments regards identified Neighbourhood Priority Projects in your ward. To give an idea of projects that are being delivered across the borough, below is a flavour of some current updates • Southern Parishes – Community Orchard Project In partnership with Chorley Community Housing and local residents we have created a Community Orchard at Poets Estate in Coppull. Over the last month we have ran a Planting day on May 31st, Coppull Primary School children have attended two forest school sessions to help develop the site. A new notice board is up to display key dates and important information. Most recently we ran a Community Action Group meeting on 21st June which local residents attended with the aim to form a local group who will continue to maintain and develop the Community Orchard in the future. More events are being planned over the summer months. • Eastern Parishes – Defibrillator Provision This project will see the installation of a Public Access Defibrillator at Wheelton Village Hall. Working with Wheelton Village Hall and Parish Council we have identified the most suitable position to locate the unit. The equipment will be ordered over the next week and local electrician will be contracted to carry out the installation. • Western Parishes - Entrance Markers To denote the boundaries of Ulnes Walton we are working with the Parish Council to install up to four entrance markers. The Parish Council are meeting on Monday 9th July and will be looking to identify the locations and suggestions for the markers.
