Councillor Information
The role of councillors in the council is an important part of life at the authority.
Chorley Council is made up of 47 councillors - sometimes refered to as elected members. They represent 20 wards - sometimes refered to as 'seats' - and meet monthly at Full Council meetings.
The make-up of the council is currently:
29 Labour representatives
14 Conservative representatives
2 Independent Group councillors
2 Independent Member
The council is currently led by Labour through the Executive Leader and members of the Executive Cabinet.
The Conservative group is the council's official 'opposition'.
