Document Sustainable September 2020
Sustainable September 2020
Returning for its second year at Chorley, Sustainable September 2020 seeks to get staff and Members involved with sharing and learning about how the COVID19 crisis has affected our understanding of climate change and renewed closeness with nature. In the last few months many of us have discovered new walking and cycle routes, chased rainbows and explored forest trails adorned with painted rocks, rediscovered our local communities and resilience, planted our own home-grown fruit and vegetables and seen animals and nature blossom anew as our cars and activity paused during the crisis. Councils are acting too, from LCC’s road closures and cycle lane to Chorley’s roadside meadows and South Ribble’s tree planting targets, we’re getting greener and cleaner in how we work, live and play.
We’re asking members to get involved by sharing their experiences and ideas as to how we can be more sustainable at home, in our communities and as a council. Members are also being invited to answer the following questions:
Q: How have residents in ward responded to COVID19 in sustainable ways?
Q: How does your work at Chorley Council, through specific roles, committees or task groups relate to improving sustainability?
Please send your responses to James Hoskinson at email@example.com.
