Bretherton War Memorial photos

Bretherton Parish Council are pleased to announce the completion of the restoration to Bretherton War Memorial which once again, honours those who gave their lives in the service of their country.

This project was one of Western Parishes Neighbourhood Priorities. Through the hard work and co-ordination from the Parish Council they have brought together may sectors of the local community to help make the restoration possible.

Many people have contributed and played their part in many ways; from residents, local businesses, community organisations, landowners and Chorley Council. There has been exceptionally generous contributions of professional expertise, financial assistance, labour, materials, donations, grants, providing help in kind, organising fund raising events and supporting fund raising events.

Alongside a generous donation, Lord Lilford has also kindly offered the land on which the War Memorial is built to the Parish Council for the price of 'one red poppy'.

Bretherton Parish Council would like to thank everyone involved for their hard work and contribution.
