Reasons for recommendations:
1. Replacement of small vans are required to ensure service delivery for several teams such as Streetscene, Enforcement, Communities and Pest Control.
2. In line with council’s green agenda and clean air commitments the small van fleet is considered the most appropriate to be fully electric
Alternative options considered and rejected:
1. The option to extend the current lease arrangement beyond January 2023 has been rejected to avoid increased maintenance costs and downtime impacting on performance.
2. The option of procuring diesel or petrol small vans has been rejected as it does not comply with the council’s green agenda and clean air commitments.
