Update on project activity in Chorley inner-East

Julie Wilson, Project Manager, Spice UK will be presenting this item.

Chorley Council is working with partners from across public services to improve the way we work together to make things better for local residents.  This item will give an update on a key project that is looking at how we can make the most of the great opportunities in our communities, and ask for feedback from the forum.

Update on the Fleet Street Extra Care development

Keith Davy, Property Services Manager, Chorley Council will present this item.

The Council is proposing to develop an extra care scheme on Fleet Street in Chorley town centre.  It will provide 65 flats designed specifically for people aged over 55, and aims to provide a lifetime home for individuals with a variety of care needs.  The scheme will also include a café and community facilities such as a sprung dance floor.

This item will update forum members on the development and seek feedback in terms of equality considerations

Equality monitoring information

Vicky Willett, Performance and Partnership Manager, Chorley Council will present this item.

It is important that we collect information to understand the make-up of our population so that we can identify and respond to changing needs. We want to know what information is collected by the different groups and organisations represented at the Equality Forum to build a Chorley-wide picture.  The group will be asked two questions:

1.           Does your organisation collect equality monitoring information?  For example, a survey to capture gender, age, religion and other categories.

2.           How is this information used?  For example, is it reviewed when developing new services or to improve existing services?

We will collate the responses and present them back to members at the next meeting.

Dates of Future Meetings
