Each application has been individually assessed & qualifying bids have been successful upon their merit of fulfilling the grants requirements.

Other options considered and rejected

Businesses that have already implemented their own measures prior to the grant being operative are not eligible for the funding. Applications whose proposed measures would not have a beneficial purpose in reducing ASB, Crime & Disorder have been rejected.

In certain successful grants, the funds have been allocated proportionally and a certain percentage of the requested budget has been granted with an understanding that the requesting applicant will be able to obtain match funding from other sources.

There are no other options to consider, this is a relocation Grant which is specifically what the business is doing.

Decision Made:

To proceed with the delivery plan which reflects specific criteria set out in the government guidance published to allocate and administer the grant and addresses identified need locally within Chorley.

Reasons for decision:

To ensure the funding is allocated to residents who are facing financial pressures until 31 March 2025.

Other options considered and rejected:

To not receive the grant funding. This would mean that those residents that need the support would not receive it.

Decision

1.         To launch a formal consultation about the refreshed Housing Strategy (2025 – 2030) in October 2024.

2.         To run the formal consultation for 6-weeks and use Citizen Space to gather and analyse views from stakeholders.
