Members of the Committee are reminded of their responsibility to declare any personal interest in respect of matters contained in this agenda in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act 2000, the Council’s Constitution and the Members Code of Conduct.  If the personal interest is a prejudicial interest, then the individual Member should not participate in a discussion on the matter and must withdraw from the Council Chamber and not seek to influence a decision on the matter.

RESOLVED – That the minutes of the meeting of the Statutory Licensing Committee held on 22 November 2006 be confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

Gambling Act 2005 - Delegation of the Setting of Fees for Licenses pdf icon PDF 419 KB

Minutes:

The Committee received a report of the Director of Customer, Democratic and Legal Services giving notification to Members of the proposed delegation of Gambling Act 2005 Fees.

 

The Gambling Act 2005 fees are required to be set by 30 April 2007 and it is on this date that the authority will start to accept Gambling Act applications.

 

RESOLVED – That the Council meeting on 23 January 2007, be recommended to approve the setting of the Gambling Act 2005 fees be delegated to the Statutory Licensing Committee.

Licensing Act 2003 - Licenses Issued From 2 November 2006 to 22 December 2006 pdf icon PDF 425 KB

Minutes:

The Committee received a report of the Director of Customer, Democratic and Legal Services on the various licences and permits issued and the registrations effected under the Licensing act 2003.

 

There had been a sharp rise in the issuing of new Temporary Event Notices with alcohol, over the Christmas period. This had been the result of the Licensing Section being proactive and sending out a pre seasonal letter to make sure that Licences were compliant over the holiday period.

 

RESOLVED – That the report be noted.
