Parish/Town Councils are considered the most local level of government and closest to the community. They are elected bodies that create a statutory local authority which is established under the Local Government Act 1972.
As part of the Localism Act 2011, all Parish Councillors have to notify the Monitoring Officer of any disclosable pecuniary interests that they have. They must be published on the Chorley Borough Council website.
