Apologies for absence were submitted on behalf of Councillors A Gee, T Gray, C Hoyle, L Lennox and T McGowan.

Declarations of Any Interests

Members of the Committee are reminded of their responsibility to declare any personal interest in respect of matters contained in this agenda in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act 2000, the Council’s Constitution and the Members Code of Conduct.  If the personal interest is a prejudicial interest, then the individual Member should not participate in a discussion on the matter and must withdraw from the Council Chamber and not seek to influence a decision on the matter.

Minutes:

Councillors Doreen Dickinson and Mrs M Lees each declared an interest in Minute 06.SL.07 (Application for Gaming Machine Permit - The Sir Henry Tate, Cleveland Street, Chorley).  The Members left the meeting during the consideration of and voting on the item.

Report of Director of Legal Services (enclosed)

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report of the Director of Legal Services on an application for the granting of a gaming machine permit under Section 34 of the Gaming Act 1968 to allow up to four amusements with prizes machines to be installed in the premises to be known as ‘The Sir Henry Tate’ in Cleveland Street, Chorley.

 

A representative from the applicants, accompanied by the Area Manager of the Group owners of the premises, addressed the Committee in support of the application and circulated layout plans of the premises identifying the location of the proposed machines.

 

No objections to the application had been raised by either the Police or the Council’s Officers.

 

Following the assessment of the proposals, it was:

 

RESOLVED - That approval be given to the granting of a gaming machine permit under Section 34 of the Gaming Act 1968 to permit the installation of four amusement with prizes machines in ‘The Sir Henry Tate’, Cleveland Street, Chorley, subject to the machines being located in the positions identified on the submitted layout plan and a final inspection of the premises by the Council’s Officers and the Police.
