Central Lancashire Joint Core Strategy - Draft Publication Version

As agreed at the Joint Advisory Committee on 28 January, an Informal Workshop has been convened to consider the second draft of the Publication  Version of the Central Lancashire Joint Core Strategy.

A copy of the draft Strategy document has been forwarded to Chorley Council’s Member and Officer representatives on the Joint Advisory Committee with the agenda papers for the LDF Working Group meeting on 23 February.  Members and Officers are requested to use this copy for the Workshop discussions on 25 February, but anyone requiring a further copy of the document is advised to contact the Democratic Services Section.  Can you please note, however, that the draft Strategy document has not yet been made available publicly and we are asking Members and Officers to respect its sensitivity before the document is agreed for publication.

The Strategy has been re-ordered and partially redrafted from the ‘Preferred’ version produced in September 2008.  Significant new text is shown underlined and proposed policy deletions appear as grey shaded text.  More emphasis is given to the importance of good design, which is now also a cross cutting theme along with Health & Wellbeing and Tackling Climate Change.

The Workshop will be conducted on a roundtable discussion format as an opportunity for members of the Joint Advisory Committee to raise any matters concerning the content of the Core Strategy.

A final draft of the Core Strategy will be presented to the Central Lancashire LDF Joint Advisory Committee on 18 March, in advance of its consideration at a special joint meeting of the Cabinets of Chorley, Preston and South Ribble Councils at Leyland on 31 March 2010.
